These lines on the notes are called ‘bleed marks’. These bleed marks are specially designed for visually impaired people. Therefore, different numbers of lines have been drawn on the notes of 100, 200, 500, and 2000.

Let us now look at the price of the note. These lines indicate the value of the notes. There are four lines on both sides of the 100 rupee note, which on touching it blindly understands that it is a note of 100 rupees. At the same time, there are four ridges on both sides of the 200 note and there are two zeros on the surface itself.
