In the last few years, the government has put a lot of emphasis on adopting fossil fuel-powered vehicles, and recently, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari arrived in Parliament with a unique car. How does a hydrogen vehicle work
Like all fully electric cars, the fuel cell electric car – the FCEV – also operates via an electric motor. In this, fuel cells generated from hydrogen are made, whereas, in an electric car, electric power is generated from the battery. When designing this vehicle, car manufacturers decide how powerful to keep the car depending on the combination of its fuel cell and battery. Almost all FCEVs nowadays come with plug-in capability, most of which are equipped with recapturing braking energy which helps in quick acceleration of the vehicle.

The car is powered by a powerful battery, which draws power from regenerative braking and is powered by an electric traction motor. Taking power from the fuel cell and traction battery pack, the device converts high-voltage DC power into low-voltage DC power to propel the vehicle. Here the electrodes are placed separately, which combine with oxygen and hydrogen to form an electric city. Combining all this, the hydrogen-powered vehicle travels without spreading pollution.
How beneficial are hydrogen vehicles
Hydrogen can be produced in large numbers and can also be prepared from domestic resources. It draws power from a hydrogen fuel cell and produces only water and steam, which means no pollution. Regarding hydrogen cars, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that green hydrogen will be made in India and soon you will get to see their pumps in the country. India is soon going to become an exporting country of hydrogen. He said, – Our government is working towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of clean and state-of-the-art mobility in India, where the National Hydrogen Mission is completely focused on green and clean energy.
