MyGov on Monday said that citizens will now be able to access DigiLocker services on the MyGov helpdesk through WhatsApp. The objective of this initiative is to facilitate people’s access to government services.

Purpose of Digilocker

DigiLocker, a flagship initiative under the Digital India program, aims to provide people with access to authentic documents through their digital document wallet. Documents kept safe in the DigiLocker system are treated as original physical documents.

According to a statement, citizens can now access DigiLocker services through the MyGov helpdesk on WhatsApp. DigiLocker will be an important citizen service offered by MyGov on WhatsApp.

These services include creating and authenticating DigiLocker accounts and downloading documents such as PAN cards, driving license, and vehicle registration certificate. WhatsApp users across the country can access the chatbot by sending ‘Hello’ or ‘Hi’ or ‘Digilocker’ to the WhatsApp number +91 9013151515.
