He surpassed the previous national mark of 88.07 meters, which he established in Patiala in March of last year.

The Pavo Nurmi Games are considered one of the top track and field events in Finland. Which is organized every year since 1957. Neeraj Chopra finished second only to Oliver Helander during the competition. Oliver Helander took first place with a throw of 89.93 meters during this time.

India’s Neeraj Chopra has managed to outperform the Pavo Nurmi Games during his first competition after almost ten months. He has managed to almost touch the 90m mark, which is considered a gold medal in the world of javelin throws. Currently, Grenada’s world champion Anderson Peters is third with a throw of 86.60m.

During the Paavo Nurmi Games, Chopra made her debut with a throw of 86.92 meters, followed by the next throw of 89.30 meters. After this, his next three attempts failed. At the same time, in his last and sixth attempts, he made two throws of 85.85 meters. Chopra’s 89.30m javelin throw has propelled him to fifth place on the World Season Leaders List.
