Big update about 500 rupees, there is a green strip near Gandhiji’s picture, so is the note fake?

Fact Check: A few years back the Modi government had banned 500 and 1000 rupee notes. After this new notes of 500 rupees and new notes of 2000 rupees were issued. Since then the same note is in circulation. However, many things have come to the fore regarding the real and fake of these notes. Now once again the case of the fake 500 rupee note has come to the fore.

Picture going viral

A picture is becoming quite viral on social media. Two notes of 500-500 rupees are seen in this picture. Out of this, on the 500 rupee note, where Gandhiji’s photo is made, there is a green strip next to it. On the other hand, the green stripe in the second picture is just a short distance away from Gandhiji’s picture and is near the RBI governor’s signature.

Now comparing these two notes, it has been said, ‘Do not take those notes of 500 rupees, in which Gandhiji has a green stripe, because it is fake. Take only those 500 denomination notes in which the green stripe bears the signature of the RBI Governor. Please pass this message on to your family and friends. However, when this message was checked, it turned out to be fake.
