DGCA latest rules: There is important news for those traveling by air. Some persons will not be able to travel by plane as a result of a recent order from the DGCA. The DGCA has significantly altered air travel regulations. Now under the new order whether a disabled person is fit to travel by flight, it will not be decided by the airline companies but by the doctor.

These passengers will not be able to travel by air!

Actually, in the new rule, DGCA has said that whether a disabled person is fit to travel by flight, will not be decided by the airline companies but by the doctors. A passenger will not be permitted to travel if the doctor deems them to be unfit. That is, without informing the doctor, now the airline company cannot stop a passenger from traveling. There have been several incidents in which passengers were misbehaved by the airlines and stopped from boarding the aircraft.

The doctor will put the final seal

In this new order given to airline companies by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the regulator of airline companies, it has been said, ‘The airline will not refuse to travel to any passenger on the ground of disability. If an airline feels that the passenger may be ill during the flight, then the said passenger will have to be examined by a doctor. The passenger’s medical status will be discussed with the doctor. Whether or not a passenger is able to fly will depend on their medical situation. The airline companies will be able to take the decision only on the advice of the doctor.

Know why this decision was taken?

This choice was made in light of the incident in which an airline at the Ranchi airport forbade a disabled youngster from boarding the aircraft. There was a lot of protest against this incident after the truth about it came to light. In order to punish Indigo for this behavior, the DGCA also levied a punishment of Rs. 5 lakh. The DGCA subsequently issued this order.
