Satvik Food in Train: If you eat vegetarian food and it is not easily available during the journey, then there is no need to worry now. Passengers will be able to get completely sattvik food while traveling by train. For this, IRCTC, a subsidiary of Indian Railways has tied up with ISKCON. Under this agreement, passengers wishing to eat sattvik food will be able to eat on the train by asking for food from Govinda’s restaurant in ISKCON temple.

This facility will start in other trains as well
As per the agreement between IRCTC and ISKCON, at present, this service has started from Hazrat Nizamuddin station in Delhi. After getting good results from this facility started here, it will be started at other stations in the country as well. Passengers will be benefited by getting sattvik food in trains running in different zones of the railways.

Passengers doubt the food
On behalf of the Railway Board, it was said that many times it has come to the fore that passengers who eat vegetarian food during long journeys are suspicious of the food on the train. There are many such travelers who do not even eat onion garlic, they have more problems. There are also travelers who doubt the purity of the food they get from the pantry car and avoid that food. But now after the introduction of this facility, such passengers will not face any problems.

How to get the benefit of this service
If you want to eat sattvik food in travel under this facility of Railways, then food can be booked on IRCTC’s e-catering website or Food on Track app. For this, the passenger will have to order the PNR number at least two hours before the departure time of the train. After this, the sattvik food will reach your seat.

It was told by IRCTC that this service has been started keeping in mind the passengers going on religious pilgrimages. After getting a good response in the first phase, it will be expanded. The menu includes veg biryani, deluxe thali, maharaja thali, dal makhani, paneer dishes, noodles, and many more sattvic dishes from Old Delhi.
