5G Speed ​​Test: Reliance Jio recorded an average download speed of around 600 Mbps on its 5G network in Delhi. This information was given in a report on Tuesday. According to Ookla’s ‘Speedtest Intelligence’ report, telecom operators are testing their networks and have seen a wide range of 5G download speeds- from low double digits (16.27 Mbps) to 809.94 Mbps.

“This data points to the fact that operators are still recalibrating their networks. Speeds are expected to become more stable as these networks enter the commercial phase,” the report said. Ookla compared average 5G download speeds across four cities where both Jio and Airtel have built their networks.

Delhi In Delhi, Airtel clocked an average download speed of around 200 Mbps to 197.98 Mbps, while Jio recorded a speed of around 600 Mbps (598.58 Mbps).

Kolkata In Kolkata, the average download speed of operators has varied the most since June. Airtel’s average download speed was 33.83 Mbps while Jio’s average download speed was 482.02 Mbps.

In Mumbai, Airtel has reached an average download speed of 271.07 Mbps since June, compared to Jio’s 515.38 Mbps average download.

The download speed of Jio and Airtel in Varanasi is almost equal. Airtel has achieved 516.57 Mbps speed as against Jio’s 485.22 Mbps average download speed since June 2022.

Bharti Airtel has rolled out its 5G services in eight cities and Jio’s 5G beta test ‘Jiotr 5G for All’ is now available for select users in four cities ‘Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Varanasi’.

What Different Reports
According to a recent consumer survey conducted by Ookla, 89 percent of Indian smartphone users are ready to upgrade to 5G. According to the Speedtest Global Index, India was ranked 117th in the world in terms of mobile download speed of 13.52 Mbps in August. Hyderabad is where all operators have seen significant growth in terms of 5G-enabled devices, with Jio tripling its installed base.
