8th Pay Commission: It is anticipated that 2.08 fitment will be used to determine the compensation in the eighth pay commission. Previously, the fitting factor for the sixth pay commission was 1.86, while the fitment factor for the seventh pay commission was 2.57.

Pensioners and central staff are looking forward to the eighth pay. However, they have a lot of doubts regarding whether a fitting factor will be used and how much their pay and HRA will increase.

In addition, how much will be allocated for children’s schooling and travel expenses, as well as the base pay? Actually, all of this will be determined based on the fitment factor in the eighth pay commission, and it will have an impact on HRA’s travel allowance.

How will the salary be decided?

It is anticipated that 2.08 fitment will be used to determine the wage in the eighth pay commission. The fitment factor in the sixth pay commission was 1.86, whereas it was 2.57 in the seventh pay commission.

This adjustment will only take place in such a scenario following the pay commission’s report and announcement. However, it is anticipated that all central employees’ basic and other benefits will rise significantly if the fitting factor of 2.08 is used.

How much will the salary increase

The remuneration of employees up to grade 1900 of the 8th Pay Commission level-2 can thus rise to Rs 52,555 after applying the fitment factor 2.08. Employees up to grade 2400 of level-4, however, may get a rise in pay to Rs 75,762.

Personnel up to grade 2800 of level-5 would get a pay hike to Rs 96,301, while those up to grade 4200 of level-6 will see a pay increase to Rs 94,883.

Employees up to level-8 grade 4800 would see a rise in pay to Rs 1,13,190. Employees up to level 9 grade 5400 would see an increase in pay to Rs 1,146,583.

Notably, the Pay Commission is made up of seasoned officers, experts, retired justices, and senior economists who consult with labor unions and other stakeholders before submitting their report to the government. The government is thereafter in charge of putting the final decision into effect.
