UN Report on AI: According to the UN’s “Gender Snapshot 2025” report, women’s jobs are at risk due to AI. Let’s see what this report has to say.

The potential of AI has been made clear by the United Nations’ (UN) recent report, “Gender Snapshot 2025,” which warns women worldwide about their employment. The survey states that only 21% of men’s occupations will be impacted by artificial intelligence (AI), compared to roughly 28% of women’s jobs. These numbers suggest that in this quickly evolving technology environment, the “gender digital divide,” or digital inequality, may widen.

According to the report, women may have a lot of opportunities in the future, but if nothing is done today, this imbalance will only worsen. The study emphasizes how underrepresented women continue to be in the worldwide technology industry. Just 29% of women work in technology worldwide, and just 14% of them hold senior positions in the industry.

The 2030 Agenda and Equality of Gender

A United Nations research states that 2025 is a critical year since there are just five years left to accomplish the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among these, gender equality is a key objective. The report cautions that a new type of shift is occurring throughout the world.

According to the report, the situation might be totally changed if the appropriate actions are done. In addition to providing food security for 42 million women and families, it could help 343 million women and girls, elevate 30 million out of extreme poverty, and provide US$1.5 trillion in global economic growth.

What is required in order for women to participate?

According to the UN research, a number of actions need to be made right now to safeguard women’s employment and guarantee their equality in the digital era. These include making investments in women’s technical and digital skills, helping women move safely between economic sectors, and putting in place labor and social security laws that take gender equality into account.
