In a statement, the railways said that from April to November 2022, they transported 978.7 million tonnes of cargo, up from 903.1 million tonnes during the same time period in the previous year.
16 % more money earned
Based on this number, an increase of 8% in the Railways’ freight traffic has been seen throughout this time.
Railways made Rs 1,05,905 crore from freight traffic in the first eight months of the current fiscal year, which is a 16 percent increase from the same period last year.
From April to November 2021, freight brought in Rs 91,127 crore for the Railways.
The Railways moved 12.39 million tonnes of freight in November, up 5% from the 11.69 million tonnes in November 2021, in an effort to increase freight.
In a statement, Railways claimed that its success was a result of its initiatives to encourage freight transportation as part of the “Hungry for Cargo” campaign.
This encouraging information was provided by the minister of transportation.
The Railway Minister also shared some positive news with the railroad travelers.
There are 4 routes in the nation where Vande Bharat trains are currently running. The plan to expand this train’s operational range is currently being worked on.
The government intends to launch 475 Vande Bharat Express trains in the nation by 2025, according to recent statements made by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.
