Prime Minister Modi transferred Rs 16,400 crore into the accounts of more than 8 crore farmers. This was the thirteenth part of the Central Government’s grand plan. With the arrival of this payment into the farmers’ accounts, Union Agricultural Minister Narendra Singh Tomar made a significant announcement. According to Tomar, the government led by Prime Minister Modi has given attention to this sector because of the importance of agriculture to the nation. Prior to 2014, the agriculture sector’s budget was roughly Rs 25,000 crore. The amount is now 1.25 lakh crores.
Agriculture is being worked on using new technology.
He claimed that efforts were being made to advance the agricultural industry using new technology. The nation’s 86 percent of small farmers now have better economic conditions thanks to the government’s proactive measures. 10,000 new FPOs are being created by the national government, and Rs 6,865 crore is being invested in them. He claimed: “Educated young will have employment chances in the villages in accordance with the advancement of technology.”
The agricultural sector has many difficulties.
The agriculture industry faces several difficulties, according to Tomar, but the government is tackling them head-on. The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana was introduced to make up for farmers’ losses. In this, payments of Rs. 1.30 lakh crore were made to settle the farmers’ claims.
Also, the government has implemented the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme to assist farmers financially.
Under this, qualifying farmers are awarded 6000 rupees yearly in total transparency. The farmers receive this money in three payments totaling 2,000 each. Millions of farmers have received grants totaling more than 2.40 lakh rupees up to this point.
