But such is the dominance of the 7-seater car in the MPV segment that Mahindra, Kia, and Toyota have failed to dislodge it from the number one position despite their best efforts. The special thing is that in the month of December, the sale of this seven-seater car was more than the cheap cars like Alto and WagonR.
Everything fails in front of 7-seater cars
Maruti Ertiga has been the best-selling 7-seater MPV in the country last month. The special thing is that surprising everyone in terms of sales, it reached a second place as the best-selling car in the country. Only Maruti Baleno has been able to sell more than this in the whole month. Maruti Ertiga has sold 12,273 units in December 2022. This is an increase of 4% as compared to 11,840 units sold in December 2021.
Let us tell you that in comparison, only 8648 units of Maruti Alto and 10,181 units of Maruti WagonR were sold. Maruti Ertiga’s price starts from Rs.8.35 Lakh.
How about Kia Carens and Innova?
Kia Motors launched its Kia Carens MPV last year to compete with the Maruti Ertiga. While Toyota is already selling the Innova. However, both of these vehicles could not make it to the list of the top 25 best-selling cars.
Mileage of Maruti Ertiga
Let us tell you that a 1.5-liter petrol engine has been given in the Maruti Ertiga, with which the option of a CNG kit is also available. The mileage of this CNG car is up to 26 km per kg. The Ertiga is a 7-seater car with a boot space of 209 liters. The boot space can be expanded to 550 liters by folding the third-row seats.
