The Indian market has seen the arrival of the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650. This new 650cc motorcycle will set you back between Rs 3.59 lakh and Rs 3.73 lakh. Its pricing is between that of the Super Meteor 650 (Rs 3.64–3.94) and the Interceptor 650 (Rs 3.03–3.31 lakh).

The Super Meteor 650 is constructed using the same steel tubular spine frame as this vehicle. In addition to the platform, the new Shotgun 650 is powered by the same 648cc, 4-stroke, SOHC, air-oil cooled, parallel twin engine that generates 46.4 horsepower at 7250rpm and 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It has been claimed that it can give 22kmpl mileage.
The new Royal Enfield Shotgun 650
has a 35mm shorter wheelbase than the Super Meteor 650. 1465 mm is its wheelbase. It has 140 mm of ground clearance. With dimensions of 2170 mm by 820 mm by 1105 mm, this bike is quite large. The height of the seat has been raised to 795mm (+/- 55mm). Merely 1 kilogram separates the motorcycle’s weight from the Super Meteor 650, at 240 kg.
Its 13.8-liter gasoline tank
is roughly 2 liters less than the Super Meteor 650s. Its 120 mm-travel Big Piston USD front fork is sourced from Showa. There is a twin-shock absorber with 90 mm of travel in the back. There are 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels on this bobber-style bike. The rear and front tires are 100/90 and 150/70 section tires respectively.
The motorcycle sports a dual-channel
ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with a 300mm rear disc and 320mm front disc for stopping. The motorcycle has only one seat when it is first launched. Customers do, however, have the option of selecting a twin-seat variant.
