In September 2023, Piaggio India presented the Aprilia RS 457 full-faired motorcycle during the Indian MotoGP. The business will now introduce this motorcycle on December 8, 2023, during India Bike Week. This will compete with the incoming Yamaha R3 on the market as the newest model in the twin-cylinder sub-500 cc class. The Kawasaki Ninja 300 and 400 belong in this same category. Additionally, Kawasaki unveiled the Ninja ZX-4R, a new model that will compete with the RS 457 in the nation.
The Aprilia RS 457 bike will have styling cues
from the wider RS series. It will have the recognizable twin front fairing, a new 5-inch TFT color instrument cluster, a sleek 2-in-2 exhaust, LED front headlights similar to those on the large Aprilia bike, and an underfloor silencer. The new fully-faired motorbike, according to Aprilia, will have the RS 660’s sporting nature. On a lightweight chassis, the new Aprilia RS 457 motorbike will feature cutting-edge technology and simple handling.
A liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine with
double camshaft timing and four valves per cylinder will power this new, fast motorcycle. The maximum power output of this new 457cc twin-cylinder engine is 48 horsepower. The motorcycle has a rear mono-shock and a 41 mm USD front fork. There is preload adjustability on both. There are two disc brakes: a 320 mm front and a 220 mm rear. Moreover, it features dual-channel ABS in Supermoto mode.
The motorcycle will be equipped with a 17-inch
alloy wheels and front and rear tires with 110/70 and 150/60 sections, respectively. Merely 175 kilograms, the RS 457 will be 3 kg heavier than the KTM RC 390. The bike has two levels of traction control and three riding modes thanks to ride-by-wire technology. Additionally, it will feature an optional 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
