Asia Cup 2025: From August 29 to September 7, Rajgir Hockey Stadium will host this competition. The Indian women’s team won the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy, which was previously successfully held in November 2024.
Asia Cup 2025:
Rajgir, Bihar, will host the Hockey Asia Cup. Hockey India and the Bihar State Sports Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday. Rajgir Hockey Stadium will host the competition from August 29 to September 7. At the global level, this event will give Bihar’s sports infrastructure a new identity.
This is the second international match that Rajgir will host.
The Indian women’s team won the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy, which was previously successfully held in November 2024. The 12th round of this esteemed competition will feature eight teams. India, Pakistan, Japan, Korea, China, and Malaysia are the main teams; the other two will guarantee their spots by winning the AHF Cup qualification tournament.
India and Pakistan won the tournament three times each
In the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup’s history, South Korea has been the most successful team.Five times so far, it has taken home the crown (1994, 1999, 2009, 2013, 2022). Since then, Pakistan (1982, 1985, 1989) and India (2003, 2007, 2017) have each won this competition three times.
It is a source of pleasure for our state to host the Hero Asia Cup 2025 in Rajgir, according to Dr. B Rajendra, Additional Chief Secretary, Sports Department, Bihar. We are totally dedicated to making sure the tournament runs smoothly. In addition to improving Bihar’s standing internationally, this tournament will motivate aspiring hockey players in the area.
Dr. Dilip Tirkey, president of Hockey India, stated that Rajgir’s hosting of the Asia Cup 2025 is a significant step for Indian hockey. We shall witness thrilling and top-tier matchups because this competition will serve as a World Cup qualifying event.
