Bad news for Netflix users users! Netflix will not run on these devices

Netflix

Netflix has declared that its app will no longer function on Apple TVs from the second and third generations. The Apple App Store is not available on these devices, which were introduced almost a decade ago. Netflix will no longer be available to users of Apple TVs made in the second or third generation after July 31, 2024. To access Netflix, you can go to a more recent model of Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, or smart TV.

Apple is discontinuing support; why?

As per a report by MacRumors, Netflix has notified its clientele via email that it would no longer be compatible with second and third-generation Apple TVs after July 31. According to the firm, the purpose of this modification is to “maintain the best Netflix experience.” The company has also updated its support page, which says that ‘Netflix will not be available on Apple TV (2nd generation) and Apple TV (3rd generation) after July 31, 2024.’

These items from Apple are no longer in use.

The first three generations of Apple TVs are currently regarded by Apple as “obsolete,” a term that refers to a device that Apple stops selling and then stops providing support for after seven years. In 2019, Netflix announced that it would no longer support several outdated devices, such as smart TVs from Samsung and Vizio and first-generation Roku boxes.

Additionally,

it has said that they do not intend to develop a unique app for the Apple Vision Pro headset. Additionally, they won’t let customers use the Apple Vision Pro to access Netflix on an iPad.
