Before the election result Amul increased the prices of milk across the country

Amul

Amul milk now costs Rs 2 more per liter. On June 3, 2024, this new price will go into effect. The populace was already affected by the inflation wave before the Lok Sabha election outcomes. The corporation claims that Amul Gold, Amul Tea Special, and Amul Shakti are now more expensive. Amul serves millions of people nationwide. It’s thought that in the days to come, Mother Dairy and Parag may raise their rates in addition to Amul.

The current price of Amul Gold is Rs 66 per liter.

However, the cost of a liter of Tea Special has gone up from Rs 62 to Rs 64. A liter of  Shakti would set you back Rs 62. Curd prices have also increased. After 14 months, prices rose once more. This price hike comes after 14 months, as on April 1, 2023, the price of Amul milk in Gujarat increased by Rs 2 per liter. According to the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), Amul milk prices in the Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Saurashtra markets have gone up as of Saturday.

According to sources

cited by PTI, 500 ml of Gold would now cost Rs 32, 500 ml of Standard will cost Rs 29, 500 ml of Taaza will cost Rs 26, and half a liter of Tea Special will cost Rs 30.

What causes the price of milk to rise?

Even though the corporations do not explain raising the price of milk, the prices are increased due to reasons like transport costs, shortage of fodder in the summer season, cost, etc. Not only this, other milk companies also increase the price of milk to earn their profits. Apart from this, milk producers’ unions and cooperative societies were also demanding an increase in the price given to farmers for milk from the companies.
