On Monday, railway officials said that 588 booking counters

in northeastern nations, along with seven districts in West Bengal and five districts in North Bihar, now offer QR code ticketing. The largest number of these computerized booking counters—167—has been installed in Katihar, followed by Alipurdwar (96), Rangia (87), Lumding (175), and Tinsukia (63). Northeast Frontier Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, reports that QR code-equipped reservation desks have been set up in five divisions. These divisions are Katihar, Rangia, Alipurdurwar, Lumding, and Tinsukia. This move by the railways ensures that passengers can avail of ticketing facilities through digital payment without any interruption at almost all major stations within the NFR network.
