The Delhi Motor Vehicle Licencing of Aggregators (Premium Bus) Scheme, 2023 has been announced by the Kejriwal administration. This program is a landmark move in the direction of advancing public transportation in Delhi. The first state in the nation to introduce a premium bus aggregator program is Delhi.

“The announcement of the Delhi Motor Vehicle Licencing of Aggregators (Premium Buses) Scheme, 2023 is historic for Delhi,” stated Kailash Gehlot, the minister of transportation for Delhi. It is a step in the direction of encouraging public transit in Delhi and reducing pollution under the capable leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.”This is a critical first step in the reducing process.”
The plan calls for the introduction of premium buses for intra-city travel
As a result, “Premium Buses” will be a kind of luxury public transportation that can accommodate at least nine passengers and have complete air conditioning. There will be WiFi, GPS, and CCTV installed in the reclining seats.
Delhi Premium Bus Aggregator Scheme – Applicants must have at least three years of
experience managing and operating vehicles in shared or public transport in order to be eligible for the license. They will need to keep a fleet of at least 1000 passenger cars or 100 passenger buses per year. They will need to maintain a minimum of 100 buses in the mixed fleet if we are discussing a fleet that includes both autos and buses. The scheme stipulates that the bus must not be older than three years. There will be all-electric buses.
Upon payment of Rs 5,00,000, the aggregator license will be granted
for a duration of five years. In addition, by paying Rs 2,500 prior to the five-year period ending, renewal for the following five years can be secured. Electric buses will not be subject to a license charge.
Routes and Fees:
License holders will be free to choose the routes on which to run their luxury buses. The fare would be dynamic and cannot be less than the highest possible fare for AC buses operated by Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC).
Digital tickets: Only those that have been reserved in advance will be accepted. Passengers will be required to pay for all fees electronically or digitally.
