But a few months ago, the Modi government has approved the census. During this, it has been said that caste census will also be conducted in the main census itself. How is the census done

Government employees are appointed for the census. These people reach the designated areas and collect various kinds of information by going door to door. The government gives them special identity cards for the census, but if a person has any doubts, he can also ask them to show the official identity card. The census is conducted in two parts. The first is housing and the second is housing census. In housing, questions related to the house such as electricity, drinking water, toilet and property are asked.

What questions are asked

The second form is of the National Population Register. It contains questions related to the members of the household such as gender, mother’s name, date of birth, father’s name, marital status, temporary address, current address, head of the family, relation with the head of the family, current marital status, age at the time of marriage, religion, sect, scheduled caste or tribe, disability, mother tongue, knowledge of other languages, literacy status, current educational status, highest education, employment in the past year, category of economic activity, employment, nature of industry, employment and services, category of non-economic activity, what kind of employment do you want, mode of going to work etc. During this process, generally 29 questions are asked. 

When will the census start

This time the census work in India will be completed in two phases. The first phase will start from 1 October 2026. During this time the census of the people living in the hilly areas of the country will be done. The second phase will start from 1 March 2027. During this time the census will be done in the plains. This time caste based census will be done. The biggest impact of caste census will be seen on the OBC class.
