The whole genome sequencing of positive samples should be improved, according to the Prime Minister, using the designated INSACOG Genome Sequencing Laboratories. This would help track newer mutations and enable prompt action. He emphasized the need for patients and medical personnel. And healthcare workers to dress appropriately, including by donning masks when on hospital grounds. He also emphasized how crucial it is for older people and people with co-morbidities to wear masks when they enter crowded places.
First Covid-19 Deaths This Year: UP, Gurugram
According to state health officials, Uttar Pradesh has recorded this year’s first death associated with the deadly Coronavirus amid the country’s Covid-19 rise. During the day, the state also reported 192 new instances of Covid-19, while 68 patients, including one in the state capital of Lucknow, made full recoveries. An elderly Covid-positive woman passes away in Lucknow
A senior who had tested positive for Covid-19 on April 2 passed away while receiving treatment on Thursday, while 35 additional persons in Lucknow also tested positive for the virus. The deceased woman was a patient at a private hospital in Alambagh and was a resident of Lucknow’s Vrindavan Colony.
She was identified as having multiple organ failure
and a TrueNat test for Covid-19 revealed a positive result. “On April 4, a second sample for the Covid test was collected from her at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), where she was later transferred. A top health official stated that the second sample’s report was eagerly anticipated.
UP Covid-19 Spike

In the state capital on Thursday
there was a sharp increase in the number of new Covid cases. As 35 more patients tested positive compared to 24 new cases on Wednesday. According to data from the health department, six patients came from Aliganj & Indira Nagar. Five from Sarojini Nagar, four from Alambagh and Chowk, two from Chinhat, and one from each of Qaiserbagh, Tudiyaganj, and Malihabad. And one from each of NK Road, Malihabad, and Aishbagh.
India records 5,335 new cases of COVID-19, the most in 195 days.

The total number of patients who have recovered from the illness has risen to 4,41,82,538
the case fatality rate is 1.19 percent. On the ministry’s website, it is said that the nationwide vaccination campaign has so far provided 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine.
