On March 26, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) hosted Gujarat Titans (GT) at home in IPL 2024. The reigning champions, batting first, set a goal of 207.
Gujarat’s chase failed to gather momentum
as GT finished their innings at 143/8 after 20 overs. To climb to the top of the points table, CSK was the first team to score four points during the competition. Rachin Ravindra, the CSK opener, struck 46 off 20 balls, while captain Ruturaj Gaikwad added 46 off 36 balls. When Rachin left the game in 5.2 overs, CSK was at 62. Shivam Dube took the batting after some decent middle overs.
Chennai reached
207 thanks to 51 runs in 23 balls from Shivam Dube. With two sixes, Sameer Rizvi’s explosive 14 off 6 balls fueled the flames.
GT lost their first wicket early
while batting second. In 2.5 overs, captain Shubman Gill was out for 8 off 5 balls. Gujarat’s top scorer was Sai Sudharsan, an impact player. The only fight from GT came from the Tamil Nadu hitter who hit 37 off 31 balls. Playmaker of the Match went to Shivam Dube.
Chepauk is going to remember
that one catch blew up the stadium. CSK promoted younger players like Rizvi in the batting order while they batted, keeping Chennai supporters excited for their Thala, MS Dhoni. Fans in Chennai therefore never got the chance to see Mahi bat.
