The Bihar cabinet has now made a significant choice in the best interests of the employees after enhancing the dearness allowance (DA) on behalf of the central government. In addition, the cabinet determined that a commission would be established to hire teachers for the state government’s public schools.
DA Increased from 38 to 42 percent
It was decided to raise the dearness allowance (DA Hike) for state employees and pensioners by 4% at the cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The employees’ dearness allowance has grown from 38 to 42 percent as a result of this increase. On January 1, 2023, employees will begin to profit from greater DEC. The state government’s pensioners will also benefit from the rise in dearness allowance. Employees will also receive their April salary and DA for three months.
Mathematics of pay increases
There has been a 4% gain in DA after this boost. For instance, if an employee’s base pay is Rs 20,000, he or she would have previously received a dearness allowance of Rs 7,600 at a rate of 38%. This DA is now 42 percent, or Rs. 8400, after a 4 percent increase. In other words, after increasing the DA, the employees’ monthly salaries increased by Rs 800. (Rs 9600 annually).

Additionally, Additional Chief Secretary S. Siddharth explained that the recruitment of teachers used to take place at the Panchayat, Block, and District levels. A commission will be used by the government to appoint teachers under the new regulation. According to the senior officer of the Education Department, teachers will now be appointed from primary to senior secondary level on the basis of the new system due to the modified rules.
