Dalmia Bharat: The Jayprakash Associates, the parent company of the Jaypee Group, and its subsidiary’s power business has been acquired by Dalmia Bharat. This deal was worth Rs. 5,666 crores.
A new buyer has been found for Jaypee Group’s crippled cement division. On Monday, Dalmia Bharat Ltd. announced that it had acquired the cement division of Jayprakash Associates Ltd., the parent firm of the Jaypee Group, as well as its subsidiaries.
It is well known that in October, Jai Prakash Associates and Jaiprakash Power Ventures declared the debt-reduction goal of selling several non-core businesses along with the cement industry.
Bought cement-power company Dalmia Bharat told the stock market today that its wholly owned subsidiary Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd. (DCBL) Jaiprakash Associates Ltd. has entered into a definitive agreement with its associated firms for the acquisition of clinker, cement, and power facilities.
The sale includes a cement plant with an annual capacity of 9.4 million tonnes, and a clinker plant with a capacity of 6.7 million tonnes. Thermal power plant with an annual capacity of 280 MW.
A total enterprise value of Rs. 5,666 crores was used in the transaction.
Understanding what Dalmia Bharat stated
Dalmia Bharat claims that these assets are situated in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, according to media sources.
Dalmia will be able to expand its footprint in the country’s center thanks to this acquisition. It is well known that this company is putting forth the effort to achieve its goal of developing into a cement company with a capacity of 75 million tonnes by the fiscal year 2026–27 and 11–13 million tonnes by the fiscal year 2030–31.
