Deepika Padukone: The FIFA World Cup trophy will be unveiled at the final, which is later this month, by Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone.
She will be the first actor of world renown to receive such a prestigious honor at one of the largest athletic events in the world, which may be considered a new feather in her cap.
Deepika will shortly depart for Qatar to take part in the competition.
She previously served as a jury member for India at the renowned Cannes Film Festival. She caused quite a stir at the film festival with her vibrant attire.
Deepika Padukone most recent appearance at a film was in Gehraiyaan.
The direct release of the movie on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year received mixed reviews. But many people praised Deepika for her performance.
She is currently busy working filming Project K, a multilingual science fiction film with Prabhas playing the major role.
With Nag Ashwin at the helm, the movie is being made on a hefty budget. Disha Patani and Amitabh Bachchan are also featured in the film.
She is anticipating the January release of Pathaan, the new film from Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
