Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on February 12. The expressway covers 1,386 km. The initial phase of the expressway will cut the journey time of 229 km from Delhi as well as Jaipur down to 3.5 hours. When it is completed, this expressway will complete the Delhi-Mumbai trip in just 12 hours. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is expected to be completed by 2024. Let us inform you what the limit speed, the toll rate, and other details pertinent to this highway.

Mumbai-Delhi Expressway Rate Speed Limit, Full Route, All Important Information

1. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is the largest expressway in India with 1 386 km of length.

2. It will reduce the distance of travel between Delhi and Mumbai by 12 percent by reducing the distance from 1,424 km down to 1,242 kilometers. It will also reduce the time to travel by 50% from 24 hours to 12 hours.

3. The expressway will traverse the states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra and will connect major cities such as Kota, Indore, Jaipur, Bhopal, Vadodara, and Surat.

4. A toll tax of the amount of Rs 90 for a light vehicle

and Rs.145 for a light commercial vehicle has to be paid all the way to Khalilpur which is approximately 20 km from the beginning point.

5. If someone travels to Barkapara and is a resident of the area, he has to pay a toll fee in the amount of 500 rupees for a small vehicle, and Rs 805 for commercial vehicles that weigh less than 805 kg. In addition to Khalilpur and Barkapara Toll gates will also be within Samsabad, Sheetal, Pinan, and Dungarpur.

6. From the entry point to Barkapara seven axle vehicles will need to pay the most expensive tax of Rs 3215.

7. Vehicles entering from Sohna

will be required to pay the toll from the moment they reach Khalilpur Loop located in Western Peripheral.

8. The legal top speed limit for expressways is set at 120 kmph.

9. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway features 40 interchanges, which will increase the connectivity of Jaipur, Kishangarh, Ajmer, Kota, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat.

10. The Sohna-Dausa section will extend over 160 kilometers across Haryana and will go by Gurugram, Palwal, and Nuh districts. This includes 11 villages from the Gurugram district and seven villages in Palwal along with 47 villages in the Nuh district.

It is constructed at an amount of around 98,000 crores. The expressway will positively impact the development of areas surrounding it and aid in the economic development of the nation.
