In the just-ended fiscal year, the total amount of gross personal income tax collection (including STT) was Rs 9.60 lakh crore. In this method, an increase of 24.23% over Rs 7.73 lakh crore in the fiscal year 2021–2022 has been seen. Moreover, refunds worth Rs 3,07,352 crore—a 37.42 percent increase over Rs 2,23,658 crore—were awarded in the fiscal year 2022–23.
