Today, the fourth phase of DMRC Delhi Metro will see the foundation stone for two corridors, to be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The new metro route will link Lajpat Nagar to Saket G block and Indralok to Indraprastha. Both routes have a combined length of over 20 kilometers. Some 2.5 lakh people would benefit from the DMRC new route’s increased connectivity once it opens.
PM Modi’s Union Cabinet
gave this project their approval on Wednesday. Cities’ infrastructure will see significant changes as a result of this. These two lanes will cost a total of Rs 8,399 crore. The Central Government will raise Rs 4,309 crore of this, with the rest funds going to be raised through Delhi Government and international funding.
The Indralok-Indraprastha
corridor is being developed as a Green Line expansion. It will pass over six more lines, boosting the network’s overall connection. The Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block corridor, on the other hand, will link four lines and be entirely elevated.
Eight elevated stations
will be located along the metro corridor that runs from Saket G Block to Lajpat Nagar. Significant locations like Andrews Ganj and Greater Kailash-1 will be traversed by this metro. Along this section, eight new interchange stations will be constructed. Subsequently, the current metro network’s connectivity will also improve.
