FIFA WORLD CUP QATAR: England wins the match thanks to two goals from Rashford (50, 68, 52).
Marcus Rashford stood out as England defeated Wales 3-0 thanks to his two goals.
England made four changes from the team that drew with the USA on Friday in FIFA World Cup Qatar , including the inclusion of Phil Foden in the starting XI.
In the meantime, Wales brought back Dan James to the team as they sought the victory that, depending on other outcomes, might secure them a spot in the round of 16.
The game started off cautiously as Cymru tried to sit back and try to hit the Three Lions on the counterattack when they had the ball.
After 10 minutes, Marcus Rashford was assisted by Harry Kane, but the Manchester United player had Danny block his shot.
England was leading after 30 minutes, but Rob Page’s team appeared to be resolute in defense.
Soon after, Phil Foden found himself in a good position inside the box and had the game’s first serious opportunity, but his shot went high.
Eventually, Wales did have an opportunity, just before halftime, when Joe Allen sent a half-volley from the edge of the box over the crossbar.
Brennan Johnson’s substitution for the allegedly injured Gareth Bale at the beginning of the second half was a major turning point for Wales.
The Three Lions scored after 50 minutes thanks to a fantastic free kick from Rashford.
Pulisic scores in the 38th minute to help Iran lose.
Christian Pulisic’s goal in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers gave the USA a 1-0 victory over Iran, advancing them to the round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup Qatar.
Prior to this match, tensions were high as Iranian journalists insulted Tyler Adams of the United States.
The Leeds youngster got things going here as both teams searched for the victory that would advance them further in the competition.
With so much at stake, the game started off quietly since neither team wanted to reveal too much too soon.
But after Yunus Musah’s goal-bound attempt from the edge of the area, it was the USA who began to exert their supremacy.
The USMNT was undoubtedly ahead after 30 minutes, but they lacked any kind of finesse in the closing third.
However, they were able to capitalize on their possession advantage late in the half when Chrisitan Pulisic bundled in from close range.
Once again leading going into halftime, the USA lacked the energy of the opening 45 minutes as Pulisic was forced to leave the game with an injury.
However, after some desperate Iranian attack, they were unable to score an equalizer as the USA prevailed in FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar.
