On Independence Day, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) introduced the Fastag Annual Pass, and its impact was immediately apparent. Over 1.40 lakh passengers bought and activated the pass in a record-breaking turnout. During that period, 1,150 toll plazas nationwide logged over 1.39 lakh transactions.

Highway and expressway users responded very well to this new amenity, according to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). The ‘Rajasthan Yatra App’ reportedly had between 20,000 and 25,000 users at the same time. Passengers must pay Rs 3,000 just once to purchase this pass. This service is available for up to 200 toll transactions or for a year, whichever comes first. The most significant aspect is that the inconvenience of repeatedly recharging FASTag disappears once the pass is obtained.
Who is eligible for this pass?
Only non-private vehicles are currently eligible for the FASTag yearly pass. The ‘Rajasthan Yatra App’ or the NHAI website can be used to activate this pass when payment has been received. The pass is activated within two hours of payment, and the activation process is likewise quite quick.
