Good news! Finance ministry instructed banks to increase farmers income

Financial Services Secretary Vivek Joshi met with the leaders of public sector banks (PSUs) and financial institutions (Finance Ministry) on Thursday to review the finances of the government. Joshi asked them to push various financial inclusion programmes like Jan Suraksha and Mudra Yojana at the meeting. Senior representatives from the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Department of Animal Husbandry, and Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare also took part in the review meeting.

Additionally, a three-month campaign was started.

According to a statement from the finance ministry, Joshi urged public sector banks to meet the goals set under various financial inclusion programmes in a systematic way. In order to reach the goals of the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), the government has also begun a three-month campaign.

According to the announcement of the Finance Ministry

banks were instructed to make use of their banking correspondent network to connect with and engage potential beneficiaries. The Financial Services Secretary also asked the banks to run local or regional awareness campaigns on these programmes. Let us inform you that the government is making constant efforts to quadruple the revenue of farmers.

As a result, the Finance Ministry has instructed the banks to offer financial assistance to the farmers.
