Good news for Google Pay users, you can now pay for groceries without UPI PIN

You’ll be glad to hear this news if you also use Google Pay. Google Pay has made UPI Lite available to Indian consumers. Users will find it simpler to make digital payments as a result. Users of Google Pay will be able to pay for necessities like groceries, snacks, and cab trips through the Unified Payments Interface queue. RBI introduced UPI Lite in September 2022.UPI

Ability to pay 200 rupees in one transaction

Users of the UPI Lite account can transmit up to Rs 200 at once. No PIN of any type needs to be entered in order to use this service. UPI Lite is designed to simplify digital payments. According to Google, Unified Payments Interface Lite gives users the option to deposit up to Rs 4,000 each day for quick payment. However, the most that can be paid in one go is Rs 200.UPI

UPI PIN is not required.

There is no requirement to enter the Unified Payments Interface PIN while using this NPCI-designed capability to make minor payments. Let us inform you that this service has already begun on the platforms of Paytm and PhonePe. 15 banks currently accept UPI Lite.UPI

How do I make UPI Lite available on Google Pay?

  • Visit the Google Pay app first.
  • Locate and tap the profile symbol in the phone’s top right corner.
  • Scroll down and look for the ‘UPI Lite’ option here.
  • Tap on it. This will bring up a new window with directions and information on UPI Lite.
  • After that, click Activate Unified Payments Interface Lite.
  • As you follow the directions on the screen, link your bank account.
  • You will get a confirmation message after the procedure is finished. The activation of Unified Payments Interface Lite will be announced.
  • You can now deposit money into your Unified Payments Interface Lite account in increments of up to 2,000 and up to 4,000.
