Following its recent increase in the employees’ dearness allowance, the Central Government has released another statement. This adjustment relates to reserving flight tickets for workers taking long-term leave. This modification was designed with the employees’ convenience and a seamless workflow in mind. The Personnel and Training Department memorandum states that the adjustment is only applicable to individuals who have not yet received a claim. The direct benefit will be awarded to employees who use travel agencies to purchase airline tickets through August 29, 2022.
Benefits for those who use travel agencies to purchase tickets
DoPT stated that those who purchased their airline tickets through travel agencies will be eligible to receive LTC as a result of this. Furthermore, they lack any type of evidence. In actuality, a large number of employees have been denied leave since they have no documentation of their reservations. Three registered travel agencies, M/s Balmer Lawrie & Company Limited (BLCL), M/s Ashok Travels and Tours (ATT), and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), were stated to be required to submit information on the flight under the government rules.
The flight fare should be 10% more than the cheapest fare
when purchasing an airline ticket for LTC throughout the allotted time frame. An employee will be deemed to have selected the lowest fare if they make their reservations through one of the authorized travel agencies, such as ATT, IRCTC, or BLCL. It has been mandated that all travel agents issue tickets with the LTC label for LTC travel.
When non-eligible government employees
use the Special Concession Scheme to book direct flights from their headquarters to NER, Jammu & Kashmir, Andaman Nicobar, or Ladakh, a printout of the same time slot must be made. A printout of the flight for the following slot may be retained for claim settlement if a ticket is not available for that time window.
