Old Pension Scheme
The Old Pension Scheme is a topic of much discussion right now. The outdated pension plan has been implemented by many states. People in other states are also putting pressure on their governments to reinstate the previous pension plan at the same time. The administration has stated that it has no plans to revisit the implementation of the current new pension scheme in answer to a query about the execution of the old pension scheme posed by the Samajwadi Party.
Pension Plan
According to the UP administration, the Samajwadi Party ruled the state at the time the NPS was put into place. According to SP members, the state government was duped into thinking the strategy would be advantageous. 5.95 lakh government employees and 3.5 lakh teachers have registered under the programme so far, with payments totalling Rs 28,536 crore and Rs 14,262 crore, respectively, according to Minister of State for Health Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh. a deposit has been made to their accounts.
The Minister of State for Health stated
that it is not possible to stop this programme, and neither is the government considering it. It is currently in place in several states. Man Singh Yadav, an SP MLC, then listed many states. They had abandoned the programme as a result of employee protests. They include Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Himachal Pradesh, whereas West Bengal hasn’t yet started implementing it and the Punjab government has announced it.
Age Pension Plan
Man Singh said that the government shouldn’t be pressuring employees. To adopt a new programme they do not desire, regardless of how intelligent they may be. Their money is going to corporations. So neither the workers’ fund nor the government can use it. Why won’t UP take it into consideration when so many states are doing so?
