Dr. Ashwini Kumar, Director, ICMR-VCRC said that we will release such female mosquitoes which will come in contact with male mosquitoes and produce larvae that do not contain these viruses.

ICMR has achieved great success in getting rid of mosquito-borne diseases like dengue and chikungunya. ICMR has designed such female mosquitoes to eliminate the mosquitoes that spread these diseases, from which the larvae will not carry their virus.

Dr. Ashwini Kumar, Director, ICMR-VCRC said that we will release such female mosquitoes which will come in contact with male mosquitoes and produce larvae that do not contain these viruses. He told us that we have prepared mosquitoes and eggs and can leave them anytime.
