The procedure for submitting taxes has begun. Additionally, it has frequently been seen that persons receive notices from the Income Tax Department at the same time. The IT Department has recently released rules on the kind of situations that fall under the purview of an “investigation.” According to this, investigations into the cases of income taxpayers who have not responded to letters provided through the agency are required.
Income tax department
The department will also look into any situations. In which particular information about tax evasion has been made public by any law enforcement or regulatory body. According to the regulations, tax authorities must notify income taxpayers of differences in income by June 30 by sending letters under section 143(2) of the IT Act. The income taxpayer will next need to produce the relevant paperwork in this regard.
Income Tax
The National Faceless Assessment Centre (NAFAC), according to Income Tax, would take additional action in cases where no return has been provided in response to the notice under section 142(1) of the Act. The tax authorities are authorized by Section 142(1) to send out a notification and ask for clarifications or information if the return is filed. When returns haven’t been submitted, the requester is asked to provide the required information in the appropriate way.
IT Department
The Income Tax Department will publish a list of all instances. Where a taxpayer requests an exemption or deduction despite the responsible authority having revoked or withdrawn it. According to the instructions, income taxpayers will get a notice via NAFAC in accordance with section 143(2) of the Act.
