The second significant increase in milk prices

This is the second significant increase in milk prices, particularly after September 2022. During that time, the cost of a litre of buffalo milk was hiked from Rs 75 to Rs 80. Because of this, the household budgets of middle-class and lower-class families were ruined. Singh added that the decision was reached unanimously late on Thursday night at the MMPA general body meeting. All of the participants believed that the prices of dairy animals as well as their food products, such as Dana, Tuvar, Chunni, Chana-Chuni, etc., had increased by 15 to 25 per cent as a result of the sharp increase in the costs of hay, grass, and pinda. Rates for ADI milk should also be raised.

All of Maharashtra’s major cow milk producers’ associations, as well as other top-tier branded producers, raised the cost of cow milk by at least Rs 2 per litre in February of this year.
