Speed ​​of 160 to 260 kmph
Semi-high speed trains will be able to cover long distances in less time. Railway officials said that ICF and LHB coaches have become outdated technology. There are plans to replace Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, and Superfast trains with Vande Bharat Express. The speed of Vande Bharat is between 160 kmph to 260 kmph.

Preparation to run 75 Vande Bharat
The government is going to invest more than 40 thousand crore rupees on this. It is planned to run 75 Vande Bharat trains by 15 August 2023. At present, the speed of Vande Bharat trains running between Delhi to Katra and Delhi to Banaras is 160 kmph. The speed of the new Vande Bharat train is 180 kmph.

After this, the Vande Bharat versions that are being worked on will have maximum speeds of 200, 220, 240, and 260 kmph. According to the official, with each new version of Vande Bharat, its speed, technology, and passenger amenities will increase.

The work of running semi-high speed trains at a speed of 180 kmph to 200 kmph has started on Delhi-Howrah and Delhi-Kolkata routes. Track upgradation work has been completed on both routes. Apart from this, the bridges coming along the route are being strengthened. An amount of Rs 18 thousand crores has already been sanctioned for this.
