Indian Railways: Railway earns bumper, raised so many crores in 3 months through e-auction

Indian Railway News: In the last three months, the Railways has collected about Rs 844 crore from the e-auction of its properties. This amount has been raised through contracts for parking spaces, placing advertisements on railway premises, and leasing out parcel space and toilets.

Increased income from e-auction – Railways
Railways said that the launch of the e-auction portal has increased its earnings and helped in getting the real value of railway assets. Since the commercial real estate e-auction service began, around 1,200 contracts have been granted for 8,500 properties. The contracts awarded have a combined value of Rs. 844 crores “railways reported.

Know which contracts earned the most
The highest contracts pertain to advertisement rights in railway station premises and railway coaches. Railways will get Rs 155 crore from 374 contracts allotted under this item. Similarly, Rs 226 crore will be received from 374 contracts for parking lots, Rs 385 crore from 235 contracts for parcels, and Rs 78 crore from 215 contracts allotted for paid toilets. Among all the railway segments, the Bengaluru division has collected the highest amount of Rs 34.52 crore through the e-auction of a parcel. Delhi Division has now fully adopted the method of e-auction for leasing out its properties.
