Indian Railways Reservation Rules: If you also travel by train, then there is important news for you. At the time of ticket purchase, you have the choice of the berth. But every time the desired seat is not available. Actually, Indian Railways also has limited seats. The Railways have established stringent berth-related regulations for the comfort of the passengers. Before you travel, it is important for you to know about these rules and follow them.

Train middle berth
If you are given a middle berth when traveling, you will encounter numerous challenges. Actually, passengers with lower berths often sit till late at night. In such a situation, the passenger with the middle berth should be aware of the rules of the railway. Middle berths are subject to distinct railroad regulations. Railway rules are very useful, if you know about them then your journey will be comfortable. If you don’t know about them, you are deceived.

Middle berth rules
The passenger sleeping in the middle berth opens it as soon as the train starts. This creates a lot of trouble for the lower berth passenger. However, a passenger with a middle berth is only permitted to sleep in that berth from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., under railroad regulations. That is, if a passenger wants to stop the opening of the middle berth before 10 nights, then you can stop it. The berth will also need to be lowered after 6 a.m. so that additional passengers can sit on the lower bed. Sometimes the lower berths get up late and there is a problem in the middle berth, so you can pick up your seat at 10 o’clock as per the rule.

During your journey, the Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE) visits you to collect the ticket. Sometimes he wakes you up late and asks you to show your ID. However, let us assure you that after 10 p.m., not even TTE can bother you. TTEs are required to verify tickets only between 6 AM to 10 PM. No passenger can be bothered once they’ve gone to bed. This guideline is of Railway Board. However, this rule does not apply to those passengers who start their journey after 10 pm.
