Railway Board: If you travel by train frequently, you should be aware of the new railway rules. Trains will no longer have guards, according to new Ministry of Railways rules. Actually, the Railways has decided to change the guard’s designation. Following this change, the guard will be known as the Goods Train Manager. Let us inform you that the Railways has changed the designation of the Guard, fulfilling a long-standing employee demand. In such a case, the train guard will now be referred to as the Train Manager.
There was an old demand to change the designation, and the Railway Board also provided written information to the GMs of all zones in this regard. This modification was implemented immediately. Railway employees have long demanded that the designation be changed. This was also communicated via the Railways’ official Twitter handle. Employees had been calling for a change in the guard’s designation since 2004. His reasoning was that the guard’s job is not only to display the flag and torch for the signal.
The railways may have changed the name of the guard on duty, but the responsibilities will remain the same. Aside from meeting the needs of the passengers on the train, the guard will be responsible for handling parcel material, passenger safety, and train maintenance. As a result, the Railways accepted the request to change the designation. Railways have stated that changing the designation will have no effect on the responsibility. Some other employees’ job titles have also been modified.
