Used iPhones are gaining popularity in India. Three out of five consumers who purchased used phones ultimately purchased an iPhone, according to a poll. More than half of refurbished mobile phone buyers in the first half of this year preferred iPhones over other phones, according to a Cashify poll. iPhones accounted for over 63 percent of all refurbished mobile phones sold in the first half of the year, suggesting that demand for the device is rising.
People are now purchasing less low-cost outdated phones.
Additionally, the survey found that when purchasing a used phone, consumers are no longer giving price much thought. People are now buying high-end phones that cost up to ₹60,000 instead of the ₹15,000–₹30,000 they used to spend on a used phone. Additionally, roughly 70% of customers have two or three unused phones lying around the house.
Last year, there were also a lot of sales of used iPhones.
Last year, Apple continued to dominate the reconditioned mobile market. iPhones accounted for 64.5% of all used mobile phones sold last year. In the first half of this year, this percentage has risen to 63 percent. During the holiday season, it is anticipated to rise much more. In comparison to the other businesses on this list, Apple is unmatched. With a 10.2 percent market share, OnePlus comes in second in the reconditioned category. Vivo completes the top five with 3.2 percent, Samsung comes in fourth with 6.1 percent, and Xiaomi comes in third with 9.7 percent.
Pro models are in high demand.
The market for high-end used phones is expanding quickly. Year-over-year, demand has risen by 33% for high-end versions including Apple the iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, and iPhone 14 Pro. Additionally, according to the survey, 33% of respondents are selling their old phones and using the money they receive to purchase new phones.
