On July 31, the CBDT set the Income Tax Return (ITR) filing deadline. You are mistaken if you believe that CBDT can change this in any way. In fact, the Income Tax Return filing deadline was repeatedly delayed as a result of the Kovid pandemic that occurred last year. It is expected that you have Form 16 if you are employed. Even if you don’t now have it, you will in the near future.ITR

ITR filing deadline

For the sake of avoiding any type of haste or disruption at the last minute, experts advise personal taxpayers to file their Income Tax Returns as soon as possible. You will avoid making any errors by using this. Tell us how to submit an ITR step-by-step on your own.ITR

How to submit an ITR?

A chartered accountant or an e-filing platform and app are both options for ITR filing. Most people who are filing ITRs on their own must do so online using the Income Tax Department’s website. Even though the Income Tax Return form is already pre-filled on the e-filing portal, certain documents are still necessary. However, other types of income, including capital gains, require manual filing.ITR

The necessary documents that you should have on hand when filing your Income Tax Return are listed below.

Step-by-step Income Tax Return filing goes like this

  • First, visit the income tax e-filing website.
  • Enter your user ID (PAN), password, and captcha code to log in now.
  • In the ‘e-File’ tab that appears after that, select ‘Income Tax Return’.
  • Depending on your income and other circumstances, choose the appropriate Income Tax Return (ITR) form. ITR-1 or ITR-2 can be used if you have Form-16.
  • Select the Assessment Year (AY) based on the year that you are filing your ITR after that. You should currently choose the assessment year 2023–2024.
  • Verify every piece of information you supplied, then hit “submit.”
  • After submitting the return, e-verify it using one of the available methods, such as an OTP generated with your Aadhaar.
  • Post the e-verify return at this time.
  • Verify your details once again and upload the form as the final step. You must check the return before your Income Tax Return is finished. Let us inform you that the deadline for submitting an ITR on behalf of the CBDT has been set for July 31, 2023, this time. Finish your work this time on time if this is the case.
