Along with this, business owners who depend on the travel route for their livelihood serve food on plastic plates before discarding the dirty plates and glasses. resulting in harm to Himalayan Bugyalas. Additionally, its negative effects are evident. which the district administration has launched a fresh effort.
Plastic plates and glass are prohibited on the Kedarnath Dham travel route.
Plastic plates and glasses will not be used on the Kedarnath Yatra path this season. Instead, food will be served in Malu leaves, which are imported from the hilly highlands. For which women are vocally engaged. Along with this, their economy will benefit from this endeavour.

food will now be provided to pilgrims in Malu leaves rather than plastic. As a result, the environment will not be impacted. Malu leaves will be distributed to merchants from Sonprayag to Kedarnath. They will use this leaf to feed pilgrims while also taking extra care of the environment.

District Magistrate Mayur Dixit is working tirelessly in this regard. According to Naresh Kumar, Chief Development Officer, Nari Shakti Gramme Sangathan was founded to awaken women in the distant village of Jal-Malla in development block Ukhimath. Who is doing the labour of producing plates? Nari Shakti Gramme Sangathan was established as part of the National Livelihood Mission.
Economic Empowerment of local women
At the same time, an amount of Rs 15 lakh has been donated to the Jalmalla organisation for this effort. The organisation used the given funds to purchase machines. Simultaneously, the local organisation received Rs 2 lakh from the Community Investment Fund. He stated that while women’s efforts will boost their economy, the environment will not be impacted.
