Kia Motors is planning to enter the Indian electric car segment. The company will soon launch the new Kia EV6 pure electric SUV here via the import route. A new media report states that the company is also considering launching a new small electric car in the Indian market.
The company has given the codename of this new mini electric car Kia AY which can be launched by 2025. Even the company has started work on this car. Kia’s new electric vehicle will be based on a flexible platform on which the mass market entry-level petrol SUV will also be built.
Currently, Kia’s mass-market electric car is still in the development stage, but Kia will enter the electric car segment with the new EV6 this year. The company wants to create the necessary infrastructure here before launching the mass-market electric vehicle.
Let us know that by 2025, Maruti and Toyota will also launch the first electric car in India. Let us tell you that Tata Motors currently has the largest market share in the electric vehicle segment, which is 90 percent. By 2025, around 12 electric models, including Tata and Mahindra, will have hit the market.

Kia is planning to launch 14 electric vehicles in the international market by 2030. India proved to be the fastest-growing market for Kia in 2021. The company will export a few other models, including electric SUVs and EV pickup trucks, to international markets while preparing them for developed countries. Apart from this, the company has also set a target of exporting 80,000 cars from India. The company is currently exporting its cars to more than 90 countries. Going forward, the company will export its Carens MPV from here to other countries as well.
