During a ceremony in Mumbai, MG Motor India unveiled the electric sportscar Cyberster. This electric sportscar will be introduced by the company in India. That being said, there is currently no information available on its launch date. If it is introduced, it might be offered for sale through a more exclusive dealer network or under a new flagship brand. Actually, under the joint venture between MG and JSW Group, a new flagship brand might be developed.
The 2023 Goodwood Festival
was where the MG Cyberster had its premiere. It’s also the first electric sports car made by the business. Its dimensions are 4,533 mm in length, 1,912 mm in width, and 1,328 mm in height. It is entirely based on an electric platform. It had a 2,689mm wheelbase. This sports automobile has two doors and is convertible. The front is quite sleek with sweptback headlights, which have SAIC Vision written on them. There are several large air intakes on the bumper.
The sportscar has alloy wheels
with a petal-like appearance, scissor doors, and a soft top made of cloth. The automobile has a very low profile. The sportscar’s back end features an aggressive diffuser, a wider light bar, and arrow-shaped taillights. The Cyberster electric sportscar has a luxurious and athletic cabin. It boasts three curved digital screens for the infotainment and instrument console, as well as a flat-bottom steering wheel with numerous buttons. A second screen and a few physical buttons for the HVAC settings, drive selector, and roof mechanism are also located on the center console. A grab handle is also present on the center console.
One possible battery pack size
for the MG Cyberster electric sportscar is 77kWh. With AWD configured, it might be. Its electric motor has a 535 horsepower capacity and a 725 Nm torque. The business asserts that this sportscar can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and can give a range of 580 km (CLTC cycle) on a single full charge. There may be a RWD variant as well. Its motor has a 308 horsepower capacity. It can come with a modest 64kWh battery pack with a 520 km range. It seems unlikely that MG Cyberster will be released in India very soon. Media reports indicate that it could be introduced in 2025 or 2026. In India, its estimated cost ranges from Rs 80 lakh to Rs 1 crore.
