The Center is unable to retain employee funds,

The money that was placed under NPS to launch the previous pension system has been requested for a refund by the chief ministers of both states. The old pension system (OPS) for public employees will be reinstated in both of the states governed by Congress. They assert that the center is unable to retain the employees’ funds. In Himachal Pradesh, where Congress has also pledged to restore the system, it has grown in importance as an election topic.

Elections in Himachal Pradesh will hold on November 12.

In the state, there are 1.75 lakh government employees. On November 12, Himachal Pradesh will have elections. In Shimla, Sitharaman told reporters, “Under the law, the money placed in the central head under NPS cannot flow to the states. Only those employees who are making contributions will receive it. Can the law be changed? These funds were deposited with the Center by the employees. No one authority or entity will receive this money; it will only be distributed to the beneficiaries employees.
