In India, the popularity of ordering food online is rising. People can enjoy their favorite food at home, saving time and money by not having to leave the house. Online food delivery services like Swiggy and Zomato have already established themselves as market leaders, but the government is now also gaining market share in this industry. The goal of the government’s newly launched “Open Network on Digital Commerce” (ONDC) government site is to lower the cost of people’s access to food. The government advertises that it offers inexpensive meals in the area via the ONDC’s food delivery portal.
Launch of ONDC
When ONDC was first introduced in September 2022, it was receiving about 10,000 food orders daily. ONDC has recently re-entered the spotlight. By sharing screenshots of orders from ONDC’s food delivery, Swiggy, and Zomato, users regularly compare pricing. People assert that ONDC is becoming more affordable for food. As a result, Open Network on Digital Commerce has begun offering its services in several cities around the nation.
What to do
You can look for ONDC in your Paytm app if you have one. You must look for ONDC on the Paytm app to do this. The Open Network on Digital Commerce store may be found at the bottom of the search results for ONDC in the app.
You must choose it before the names of various foods and restaurants appear. You can order your favorite foods from here. Open Network on Digital Commerce does not yet have its own app, however, this may change in the future.
