Petrol Diesel Price: Petrol became cheaper by Rs 5 in this state, relief on diesel too; so new price

Maharashtra Government: The people of Maharashtra have received tremendous relief from the Shinde government. For gasoline and diesel, the government has reduced the VAT. Petrol and diesel prices in Maharashtra have decreased by Rs 5 and Rs 3 respectively following this government relief. The choice was made at the second cabinet meeting of the new administration, which was formed last month following the resignation of former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray. Following the meeting, CM Eknath Shinde said that the Maharashtra government would lower the VAT on gasoline and diesel by 5 and 3 rupees per liter, respectively.

Petrol in Mumbai is currently being sold at Rs 111.35 and diesel at Rs 97.28 per liter. Petrol will cost Rs 106.35 and diesel Rs 97.28 per liter after this discount. Petrol in Pune will cost Rs 105.88 per liter, while diesel will cost Rs 92.37 per liter.

After the implementation of the new rates, the price of one liter of petrol in Thane will come down to Rs 106.49. Diesel price will come down to Rs 94.42 per liter in Thane.

The central government had made a big cut

Earlier in the month of May, the central government had cut excise duty. The Center had reduced the excise duty on gasoline and diesel by Rs. 8 and Rs. 6 per liter, respectively. Several state governments had reduced VAT after the Center cut excise duty. Some states like Kerala and Maharashtra, which are not BJP-ruled, also decreased VAT.
